Wow, what a fantastic bunch of children in Room 12 this year! We have 6 lovely kids so far, with several more coming in when they turn five in the next couple of weeks. It was terrific to meet the new Room 12 kids and catch up with the old Room 12 kids as well. We spent lots of time exploring our classroom and school today and we even went swimming!
Our letter of the week this week is Ss, so we read our Shared Book "Smarty Pants" and made some great smarty pants clowns.

I am counting down the days until school begins! The beginning of the year is a very exciting time, and I am looking forward to sharing the first days of school with my new students. These children celebrated their fifth birthdays recently, so it is not only their first day of school for 2012, it is their first day of school ever!
I have so many fun things planned for the first day, all I need now is the kids!
